Artist Award’s Breakfast
As our way of saying "Thank You" for helping make the Lake Mary Heathrow Festival of the Arts one of the most unique Festivals in Central Florida, we are serving you breakfast. A complimentary hot breakfast, sponsored by Lake Mary Preparatory School, will be available to artists in the VIP tent on Sunday, November 3rd.

The Lake Mary Heathrow Festival of the Arts uses the Zapplication system as a convenience to our artists. Simply enter the user name and ID that you may have used before or create a new one. Then, select our Festival and complete your application.

It's simple to use and will provide you with all the information you will need for this year's Festival.

JURY PROCEDURE

As applications are received via Zapp™ they are immediately uploaded to the  “Received” section of our Zapp™ administration site.  All applications are juried remotely, meaning that our jurors can enter the Zapp™ admin site on their computers at home by using their exclusive User Names and Passwords.  Any concern a juror may have about an artist’s work is shared with the other jurors, who continually discuss these issues via email until a consensus is reached.

Not all applicants are accepted, nor will we accept an applicant whose work is sub-par merely to fill a slot.  To the contrary, last year (2012) we admitted only 106 artists, while we let a number of spaces go unfilled that could have easily generated booth fee income for us.

We jury on a “rolling” basis for a number of reasons.  It is more convenient for our jurors, all of whom have full-time jobs.  There is considerably less pressure on the jurors to quickly decide yes or no in ten seconds or so, and there is conversely much more time to consider, think about, and research any given applicant. Earlier notification allows artists to more efficiently plan their fall schedules and helps artists avoid multiple applications – and application fees – for other shows on the same weekend.

We are, by comparison, a small show, but we work very hard to uphold the high standards to which we are committed.  We also work very hard to ensure your success, which is just but one reason we’ve dropped the jury/application fee for 2013 and possibly beyond.  You owe us no money until you are accepted, and we have not raised booth fees to cover the loss of application/jury fees.

We hope you will continue to support the Lake Mary – Heathrow Festival of the Arts, and we hope you will share with us our vision of providing great art to one of the tri-counties’ most affluent neighborhoods and surrounding areas.
