2015 Poster Artist
Born in Illinois, Amundsen studied art in Chicago and then continued her art education after moving to Florida at the University of Central Florida and Rollins College.
As a Florida artist, currently living in Longwood, Linda’s oil paintings depict much of Florida’s natural beauty. Being enamored with the tropics, many of her paintings feature vibrant foliage and lush palm trees.
Among her many honors, Amundsen’s painting, “Sea Grapes”, was juried as one of the top entries for the 1998 competitive Arts for the Park competition in Jackson Hole, WY. In 2002 her painting “Reaching for the Sky”, was named one of the finalists for the Jackson Hole competition receiving an Award of Excellence.
Linda was selected as Lake Mary/Heathrow Poster Artist in 2003 with her tropical painting of a vibrant parrot. She is again very pleased to be selected as Poster Artist for 2015 with her oil painting of “Ti Blossom”.
